Servus! My name is Jake but everyone calls me Jax. I‘m a British expat who has been living in Munich since 2016 with my wonderful German wife, who I met many years ago in London, UK.

I began as a tour guide in Munich within months of moving here and instantly knew this was the career for me. This made the decision to turn it into my full time profession easy.

My love for this city and passion for teaching naturally led me to starting my own tour business in 2021 and I haven’t looked back since!

Professional Tour guide

Having worked in the tourism industry for many years, I have received over 1000 five star reviews across many different platforms. The feedback from those reviews say that my style of  tour guiding is interactive, passionate, clear spoken, fun, interactive and at times theatrical. Learning history doesn’t have to be dull and boring!

We offer a twice daily free walking tour because I want everyone to have the chance of experiencing the city, no matter your holiday budget. It’s the best way to get a great introduction to Munich on your first day and I make sure that everyone feels involved in the learning experience.

I also love taking private tours for those that want an extra special experience of Munich.

I strive to create an open environment where you will feel like you are spending time with a friend. I like to be creative and make sure that you will remember the tour as a highlight of your time in Munich. I always share a lot of photos and pictures to make history come alive!

About me Heart of Munich Tours

The Pretzel Heart

For me this has many meanings. FirstIy, I fell in love with a wonderful German girl which led me to move to Munich. I instantly fell in love with the history, culture, food, beer and architecture and now I get to share my love for this great city with others.

The pretzel is globally associated with Munich/Bavaria and you don’t just find them in beer halls and restaurants. You can find them in bakeries, market stalls, cafe’s and of course at Oktoberfest. They are an institution and have been part of peoples daily diets for hundreds of years. When you think about Munich, you no doubt think about the humble Pretzel
