We accept most major debit and credit cards.

For the free tour, we meet in front of Mary’s column on Marienplatz. Look out for the white umbrella and always arrive before the tour start time.

If you book a private tour then I will usually come and meet you at your hotel if you are staying within Munich’s old town (Upon request) or we agree on a particular place in the city.

Most tours are walking around Munich but some require taking the train/bus. Travel costs are always included in the price. Please check the information provided on the relevant tour page.

General FAQ

Munich is a wonderful rebuilt middles ages city full of Bavarian history, culture and traditions spanning the last 860 years.

Although Munich is famous for the largest beer festival in the world, Oktoberfest. This is just one of many reasons to visit the city. We have a wonderful city park where locals surf on a river, lots of interesting museums, lovely beer gardens, food markets and more!

You can also learn all about the Third Reich period by visiting the first ever concentration camp opened in the 1930’s; Dachau or head south out of the city for a day trip to see ‘Neuschwanstein’, otherwise known as the ‘Disney Castle’.

3 – 5 days is the average time people visit the city. Munich is a great place to use as a hub to travel around Bavaria. You’ll need at least 3 days to enjoy the city and a few extra days to take some day trips.

Some of the most popular places to visit outside Munich are Salzburg, Nuremberg and Regensberg. Also plan a day to visit either Neuschwanstein castle, Herrenchiemsee or Linderhof palace.

You could also spend half a day at the two nearby lakes. Ammersee to the west can be combined with a visit to the Andechs Monastery or a short 30 minute train ride south to lake Starnberg for a view of the Alps!

Munich has four very separate seasons. Just know that in summer, temperatures can go up to 35/40c and in winter down to -5/-10c. Just make sure you prepare accordingly.

Munich has many nicknames and one of them is the ‘City of festivals’, so it doesn’t really matter what time of the year you visit as there is always something going on here.

Just some of our yearly events:

Dark beer festival
Carnival (Fasching)
Spring Festival (Frühlingsfest)
Summer Tollwood festival
Opera for everyone (Oper für Alle) – Free open air opera in front of the Opera house.
Kaltenberg Knights tournament (Kaltenburg Ritterturnier). Just outside Munich but one of my favourite events in July.
Oktoberfest
Christmas Markets – Last weekend in November to Christmas day.
